Laurent SALOMON (France)


Prof Laurent J SALOMON, MD, PhD is a Senior Consultant at the Department of Obstetrics and Fetal Medicine at Necker-Enfants-Malades Hospital and full professor at the Paris Descartes University since 2012. When studying medicine in Faculté de Médecine Necker-Enfants Malades in Paris, Dr Salomon discovered early his keen interest in Obstetrics and Fetal Medicine. During his training, he teamed up with Professor Yves Ville, and developed special interests in imaging technologies, twins, statistics, teaching processes and quality control.

Dr Salomon completed a PhD in Physics with distinction (Paris XI Sud, Science University – Orsay), and applied it to Functional Imaging of the placenta. He also completed a MSc in Medical Statistics with distinction, at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).

Dr Salomon is the Associate Director of the Master Degree in Prenatal Diagnosis and Fetal Medicine at Paris Descartes University. He is the Editor of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is involved in many committees and task forces of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Laurent also serves on a regular basis as an expert for the National Agency for Biomedecine, French Health Authority and National Security Agency in Health Products, as well as for international research projects. Laurent has co-authored several textbooks and more than a hundred papers in peer review literature.
