Torbjorn Moe EGGEBO (Norway)
Professor Torbjørn Moe Eggebø is currently employed as Associate Professor in obstetrics at the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Women’s Health at Norwegian University of Science and Technology since January 2014. Professor Eggebø is also the Chair of the National center of fetal medicine at St.Olavs Hospital, Trondheim, Norway. He was the Head of the Obstetrical Department at Stavanger University Hospital between 2005 and 2013.
The main research from Professor Eggebø’s group focuses on the use of ultrasound during active labour and he defended my thesis in this topic in 2009. At present, ultrasound is implemented as an important diagnostic tool during pregnancy, but the use of ultrasound during active labour is not implemented as standard care.
Professor Eggebø was a member of the MSF team (Doctors without Borders) in Bo, Sierra Leone in 2008 and 2009. He participated in the outreach team of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG) in Somaliland in 2012.
He was a member of the Editorial Board in Acta Obstetrica et Gynecolgica Scandinavica (AOGS) between November 2010 and December 2014.
